MP3 is a short form of MPEG Layer-1 (Moving Pictures Experts Group). It is a compressed audio format standard, which is used for smaller file sizes with almost undeterred audio quality to PCM WAV format (a format found on all standard music CDs). WAV is comparatively bigger files with an average size of 50MB and MP3 compresses WAV audio files to extremely smaller size than original. Due to its larger size, it is always difficult to send WAV files through email or offer it for download.
